My co-workers decided to go on a beach outing after one Friday a few weeks ago.
So we bought food/drinks and all headed over to the beach at 5:30pm sharp, cramming the Industrial Design team into 3 cars.
Yes, we're co-workers. Yes, work + life + close friends are intricately mixed here on this side of the world. It's awesome.
Beach soccer, roast duck/sandwiches/chicken/tea/beer, our own tent and picnic blanket ... we stayed til about 10pm.
Nice way to end the work week.
*A note about the beach: Qingdao is a coastal city, so basically the beach is everywhere. Chinese beaches aren't the rent-a-hotel-or-beach-house-for-a-week-and-chill-by-the-beach type ... they're just there, next to all the cities, and people go there every day at random times. It's kind of odd. But makes sense, cause there's no way China could afford to mark off all that land and be like "oh this is for vacation purposes only." ... Too many people, too little land.
